Geoprovisioning delivers geodata and its analysis for specific areas on request.
You are visiting MicroImages' FREE Geospatial Gateway demonstration site. It is designed to show you how our commercial TNTserver™ and TNTmips® products can be combined to provide a low cost geodata provisioning service operating on low cost hardware.
MicroImages' TNTserver™ is used here to serve up views of imagery (using WMS protocol) and geometric features (using WFS protocol).
MicroImages' TNTmips® is a complete geospatial analysis system for Mac or Windows. Its built-in scripting language is used here to create the sample geodata you request.
You can geoprovision from these sample geodata sets with these options:
USA State Orthophotos - USDA has collected and distributes 1 or 2 meter state orthophoto coverage since 2003 totaling about 50 terabytes of color imagery. This sample geoprovisioning site provides access to state-wide mosaics of these state images for 2003 to 2008 each stored using 15 to 1 JPEG2000 compression.
For more information on this MicroImages geodata set see View Five Years of 1- and 2-Meter Imagery of the USA.
500 meter Blue Marble Reference Imagery - NASA’s Earth Observatory distributes the Blue Marble: Next Generation, 500 meter monthly composite true-color images of the globe. This sample geoprovisioning site provides you access to an August image with added relief-shading of topography and bathymetry totaling about 10 gigabytes. It is stored using lossless JPEG2000 compression, reducing its size to about 1.9 gigabytes.
For more information on this image see Global Geodata (2006:72).
Sample DEMs Available:
10 meter Global DEM - USGS maintains and distributes a 0.3 arc second (~10 meter) digital elevation coverage of the United States. This sample geoprovisioning site provides access to a single mosaic of this elevation raster for the conterminous 48 states totaling about 200 gigabytes with elevations in integer feet. It is stored using lossless JPEG2000 compression, reducing its size to about 17 gigabytes.
For more information on the preparation of this DEM see the U.S. 10-Meter Elevation Data.
20 meter Canadian DEM - MicroImages has assembled 0.75 arc second (~20 meter) digital elevation coverage of Canada. This sample geoprovisioning site provides you access to a single mosaic of this elevation raster totaling about 40 gigabytes with elevations in integer meters. It is stored using lossless JPEG2000 compression, reducing its stored size to about 4 gigabytes.
For more information on the preparation of this DEM see Free Geodata from MicroImages. [not yet posted]
30 meter USA DEM - USGS maintains and distributes a 1 arc second (~30 meter) digital elevation coverage of the United States. This sample geoprovisioning site provides access to a single mosaic of this elevation raster for the conterminous 48 states totaling about 25 gigabytes with elevations in integer feet. It is stored using lossless JPEG2000 compression, reducing its size to about 3.8 gigabytes.
For more information on the preparation of this DEM see U.S. 30-Meter Elevation Data.
90 meter Global DEM - MicroImages has assembled and distributes to its clients a 3 arc second (~90 meter) global digital elevation coverage totaling about 42 gigabytes. This sample geoprovisioning site provides access to a single mosaic of this elevation raster for most of the globe including Canada and Alaska, but not covering other Arctic areas or the Antarctic. It is stored using lossless JPEG2000 compression, reducing its size to about 7 gigabytes.
For more information on the preparation of this DEM see Global 90-Meter Elevation Data.
Your creative web site designs can be used to attractively present all sorts of geoprovisioning opportunities.
The web page function can range from simple geodata delivery to complex geospatial analysis.
This sample web page illustrates the use of HTML links and an HTML image map to give users easy access to the geodata they are interested in.
